I am not going to be playing this too much, until November, since it is a present for my 50th birthday. The action is a little high for my taste, but I believe some of the new instruments are set up this way to allow you some options for adjustment. The 'voice' is softer, and not as full, but I like the sound. The concert size with cutaway makes it sound different than my Ibanez dreadnaught. The device is called a pickup by Breedlove, and does have a 9 volt battery, along with some slides to adjust volume, bass, mid etc. I have been to the Fishman web site, but could not find anything on the Fishman Classic IV. I do not have an amp yet, but want to know more about this system. I am not sure if this is a pickup, a pre-amp or what! This is my first acoustic/electric.
